Hades 2 Weapon Tier List: Every Aspect Ranked (2026 Patch)

Every Hades 2 weapon and aspect ranked from S to D, with the best aspects for each weapon and which ones to avoid in your next run. Updated for the current 2026 patch.

By Tom Karlsson 闂?/span> 闂?/span> Updated

Hades 2 launched in 2024 and has received continuous balance patches since then. The current 2026 patch rebalanced several weapons and Aspects, so this tier list reflects the latest data. If you are coming back to the game after a break, this is the tier list to use.

The tier list is divided into two layers: the weapon (which is mostly preference) and the Aspect (which is the actual power level). Most weapons are roughly balanced with each other in the hands of an expert player. The Aspects are where the real differences are.

Tier ranking system

We use five tiers, from S to D:

  • S tier - the strongest options in the current patch. Pick these up first.
  • A tier - strong and reliable. Most runs will be successful with these.
  • B tier - viable but not exciting. Workable in skilled hands.
  • C tier - niche. Only pick these if they fit a specific build.
  • D tier - avoid if you have a choice.

The tier list is for the current patch. Tier rankings shift with each balance update, so the underlying assumption is that you are playing the latest version of the game.

S tier: the best of the best

Sister Blades with Witchs Staff (Aspect of the Witch)

The Witchs Staff turns the Sister Blades into a fast, ranged, high-damage option. The Aspects main feature is the homing cast, which auto-targets nearby enemies for solid damage. Pair it with the Blades high attack speed and you have a weapon that clears rooms quickly without taking damage. The Witchs Staff is also the easiest weapon to pick up for new players, making it the strongest combined pick in the game.

Black Coat with Moonburst Axe (Aspect of the Moon)

The Moonburst Axe is the strongest single-target Aspect in the game. The charged special attack deals massive damage to a single enemy, and the base Coats defensive options let you survive while you charge. The Moonburst Axe is the most common weapon you will see in high-level clear videos, and for good reason: it has the best raw damage numbers in the game.

Skull with Transcendent Rail (Aspect of Transcendence)

The Transcendent Rail turns the Skull into a long-range, high-precision weapon. The Aspects main feature is the boosted range on the special, which lets you snipe enemies from across the arena. Pair it with the Skulls positioning-based kit and you have a weapon that rewards precise play. The Transcendent Rail is the most popular Skull Aspect for good reason.

A tier: strong and reliable

Witchs Staff with the Aspect of Shadow

The Aspect of Shadow is the defensive option for the Witchs Staff. The Aspects main feature is a damage-absorbing shield, which lets you play aggressively without dying. The Shield staff is the second-strongest Witchs Staff Aspect, and a solid pick for players who prefer defensive play.

Sister Blades with the Aspect of Rage

The Aspect of Rage is the most aggressive Sister Blades Aspect. The Aspects main feature is the boosted damage on the Omega special, which lets you delete priority targets in one hit. The Rage Blades are a strong pick but require you to play aggressively and use your Omega special frequently.

Black Coat with the Aspect of the Earth

The Aspect of the Earth is the defensive option for the Black Coat. The Aspects main feature is a damage reduction buff that stacks with each successful block. The Earth Coat is the most defensive Aspect in the game, and a strong pick for players who prefer to tank hits.

Rail with the Aspect of the Eris

The Aspect of the Eris is the most aggressive Rail Aspect. The Aspects main feature is the homing special, which makes the Rails main attack much easier to land. The Eris Rail is a strong pick but requires good aim to maximize damage.

B tier: viable but not exciting

Skull with the Aspect of the Charon

The Aspect of the Charon is the most defensive Skull Aspect. The Aspects main feature is a damage-absorbing shield, similar to the Shadow Staff. The Charon Skull is a viable pick but not exciting.

Witchs Staff with the Aspect of the Arcana

The Aspect of the Arcana is the most versatile Witchs Staff Aspect. The Aspects main feature is a boost to all magic damage, which scales with the number of Arcana cards you have equipped. The Arcana Staff is a viable pick but not the strongest option for the Witchs Staff.

Sister Blades with the Aspect of the Moon

The Aspect of the Moon is the most defensive Sister Blades Aspect. The Aspects main feature is a damage reduction buff when you are at low health. The Moon Blades are a viable pick but not exciting.

Rail with the Aspect of the Hestia

The Aspect of the Hestia is the most reliable Rail Aspect. The Aspects main feature is a homing special with reduced cooldown. The Hestia Rail is a viable pick but not exciting.

C tier: niche picks

The C tier is for Aspects that only work in specific builds. If you are running a dedicated build around a specific Arcana or boon, some of these Aspects shine. Otherwise, avoid them.

  • Skull with the Aspect of the Arcana - only useful with a specific Arcana build.
  • Black Coat with the Aspect of the Charon - defensive but lower damage output than the Earth or Moon.
  • Witchs Staff with the Aspect of the Eris - niche pick for cast-spam builds.

D tier: avoid

The D tier is for Aspects that are outclassed by other options in the current patch. If you see these in a run, take a different Aspect if one is offered.

  • Sister Blades with the base Aspect - outclassed by Witchs Staff and Rage.
  • Rail with the base Aspect - outclassed by Eris and Hestia.

How to use this tier list

The tier list is a starting point, not a rule. If you are a new player, focus on the S and A tier Aspects. If you are an experienced player, the B and C tier Aspects become interesting because they enable specific builds that the S and A tier Aspects cannot.

The most important thing is to find a weapon and Aspect that match your play style. The Witchs Staff is the easiest to learn. The Sister Blades are the most aggressive. The Black Coat is the most defensive. The Skull rewards positioning. The Rail rewards aim. Try each weapon for at least 10 runs and see which one feels best.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best weapon in Hades 2?

In the current 2026 patch, the Sister Blades with the Witchs Staff aspect is the most well-rounded weapon for the early to mid game. The Black Coat with the Moonburst Axe aspect is the strongest single-target option in the late game. The best weapon for you depends on your play style and which Aspects you have unlocked.

Are the secret Aspects worth the unlock grind?

Yes, but they are not all equal. The Witchs Staff (Sister Blades), Moonburst Axe (Black Coat), and Transcendent Rail (Skull) are the strongest secret Aspects in the game. They each require 5 to 10 successful clears with the base weapon, but they fundamentally change how the weapon plays. Skip the secret Aspects for the Daggers and the Coat until you have the core Aspects unlocked.

Should I main one weapon or try all of them?

Main one weapon for at least 30 clears to unlock the core Aspects, then experiment. Each weapon has a different play pattern: the Blades reward fast attack chains, the Coat rewards defensive play, the Axe rewards charge attacks, the Skull rewards positioning, the Rail rewards aim, and the Staff rewards cast-spam. Trying all six gives you a sense of which play style you prefer, which matters more than any tier list.

What is the easiest weapon for a new Hades 2 player?

The Witchs Staff is the most beginner-friendly weapon. The base version has high damage per cast, generous range, and a forgiving hit box. The Sister Blades are also accessible, but require faster inputs and reward a more aggressive play style. Avoid the Rail and the Skull until you have cleared the game at least once.

How often does the Hades 2 weapon tier list change?

Most patches change one or two weapon Aspects at a time. The 2026 patch rebalanced the Black Coats charge attack and the Sister Blades Omega special. The overall tier ordering has been stable since the 1.0 release. We update this tier list after every major patch.
